I picked this up from the City of Windsor website in the Newsroom section. As a citizen I see a real need here. I'm going to begin documenting some of the ideas that pop into my head and I hope you all do the same.

Newsroom: "Tell the City How to Grow
The City of Windsor wants to hear from taxpayers before it makes revisions to its Official Plan. The City is asking residents to “tell us how to grow.”

Details of how people can have their say were presented to the Mayor and City Councilors during the open session of the January 14 city council meeting. Official plans must be reviewed every five years as mandated under the Ontario Planning Act.

The Official Plan affects where people live, their environment and services that include roads, water mains, sewers and parks. The City develops its Official Plan around these three pillars:

· Environment
· Society
· Economy

City planners are asking Windsorites to become involved and to tell them what changes they would like to see in the updated Plan.

“This is a very important opportunity for citizens in the City of Windsor. We want to know how to serve taxpayers better and this will give them a chance to tell us what works and what needs to be changed,” said Thom Hunt, Acting City Planner. “It is very important that we let our citizens know what is going on and that they are welcome to come out and be heard. Their opinions count.”

WHAT IS UP?

What is up with this peanut allergy epidemic? These days, your kid can't bring a peanut butter sandwich to school, out of fear another child will start doin' the funky chicken in the hallway after touching a door handle. I can't recall any kids having a peanut allergy when I was in school, 'cause we surely would have picked on them (I know it ain't right but don't worry, kids can't do that anymore either).

I know many people with children and whenever the subject has come up, they always say the same thing, “my kid doesn't have an allergy to peanuts.”

Questions: First off - How many kids have a damn peanut allergy anyway?

And Second - Do the children that have the allergy outnumber the ones that don't?

Because

My Opinion: If a few kids have an allergy to peanuts, they shouldn't force hundreds of other people to quit eatin' peanut products! I'm of the opinion they would have to make other arrangements. I know if I had any say in the matter I'd have to tell the kid, “Sorry but your ass is just gonna have to attend the peanut free school!”

What's next? Your kid can't bring a ham sandwich to school because he may offend his Muslim classmates? You can't have cheese on your sandwich or a glass of milk because they have a student who's lactose intolerant?

Give me a damn break!

A teacher is explaining biology to her 4th grade students. "Human beings
are the only animals that stutter", she says.

A little girl raises her hand. "I had a kitty-cat who stuttered", she
volunteered.

The teacher, knowing how precious some of these stories could become,
asked the girl to describe the incident.

"Well", she began, "I was in the backyard with my kitty cat and the
rottweiler who lives next door got a running start and before we knew
it, he jumped over the fence into our yard!

"That must have been scary", said the teacher.

"It sure was", replied the little girl. "My kitty went 'Fffff, Fffff,
Fffff'. and before he could say 'fuck', the rottweiler ate him!"

I received a few responses for my Peanut Allergy comments and have responded to all concerned. Well I think I emailed all five but just in case I posted a bulletin to cover my ass.

Thanx for the responses (good or bad) It's just nice to know there is life out there.

Beautiful weather out there today! However, I was inside the entire time doing things that needed to be done.
Procrastination is my biggest enemy and my closest friend.
I did catch a few snippets of news that caught my attention.

Somewhere in the United States there are two men fighting over an amputated leg.
Ya. You read right.
An actual amputated lower limb.

The dude that currently has possession of the severed limb has been charging people, a buck or two to take a peak!
Yep!
And nobody seemed concerned enough to ask how he was makin' out with his little Halloween freak show. But he must be doing pretty damn good because they showed his ass on the news talkin' about how he was going to, "try and work out a joint custody type situation."
Apparently this fool wants to get the leg back sometime around Halloween, so he can make his show a yearly tradition!

Can you belive that shit?

When I was a kid there was a slogan that I can remember...
"When you read/watch the news you know!"

What I know is that people are funny even when they're not trying to be.

Blown up and lives to be charged

I was reading the paper earlier today and I found this article worthy of comment.

A local Windsor resident was involved in an explosion at his home sometime in August of this year.
Apparently the family had some domestic issues and his wife left with the children. When he was alone in the home this man just blew up his house and he was in it!
Homey survived though.
Barely. The police didn't expect him to survive his injuries but this guy surpised their butts when he checked himself out of a London, Ontario hospital and came back to Windsor.
I don’t understand his reasoning. For one thing, he blew up his home, which I’m sure didn’t help the domestic issue any. AND the police were waiting for his recently single -burned-up- livin’ at his parents house- ass, with two arson charges!
I wouldn’t have come back just from the embarrassment alone.
This dude’s got heart!
Personally, I think if you survive your own explosion the authorities should call it even and set your ass free.
I mean, c’mon! This dude lost his home, any self respect he might’ve had left and I can only assume the relationship is over and now you wanna take his freedom too?!
Give the brotha a break.
